Welcome
to the fifth edition of Shire Bride: Southern Sydney’s
Ultimate Wedding Guide – and congratulations on your
upcoming wedding!
Of all the publications we produce, I especially love putting together
Shire Bride. It’s such fun choosing wedding pictures to use in the guide
and dealing with our lovely advertisers – there is definitely something
special about people who are in the wedding “industry”.
But one of the most special aspects is the chance to talk to couples
about their hopes and aspirations for their weddings and helping make
these dreams come true.
And it also brings back such happy memories for me. The other people
in the office have learned to recognise that
faraway look that sometimes
comes into my eyes when I’m selecting shots to use. It
means I’m thinking back to nearly 12 years ago and my own
special day.
I can still remember every little detail, from the flowers I carried to the
songs the band played (we waltzed to “Baby I Love Your Way”) and that
indescribable feeling of being a princess for the day.
However, what
seems to have faded a little into the mists of time is all
the hard work and planning that went into making it
a success. Make no mistake, planning a wedding is hard work so be sure to look
after yourself and don’t overdo it. I only wish there had been a local
guide like this to help me when I was doing my planning.
Packed into the following pages is plenty of good advice and a stack of wonderful businesses who will all go out
of their way to help turn your dreams into reality. Please support
them and let them support you through this most
special of times – and don’t
forget to tell them you saw their details in Shire Bride!
Enjoy!
